Taekwon-do & Freestyle Taekwon-do


Taekwon-do is an ancient form of unarmed combat practised for centuries in Korea, developed from various styles including Taekyon, Karate and Kwon-bop. Introduced into the U.K in 1967,

its one of the fastest growing Olympic sports in the U.K

We have all sorts of members and are very family friendly. All shapes and nationalities from 7 years to currently 74, from all walks of life, and all grades from white belts through to black belt. Taekwon-do is a fun fast exciting sport, so whether you're looking to loose a few pounds, take up a new sport, learn some basic self defence moves or generally gain a level of fitness, why not give it a go.

Mr Shields been involved in martial arts and self defence for over 20 years , having studied Akido and Karate before finding Taekwon-do. Mark was the first student in the club to go from a complete novice to black belt and eventually take on the roll of club instructor, you will also see him taking part in national and international competitions in both sparring, patterns, and recently took 2nd in both sparring and patterns at the WUMA world championships.
